Francesco Merlo

Associate since 2009, Francesco has been the Technical Leader of all main Reflab project in the last three years. He is specialized in software architecture, mainly on Plone based projects, and user interfaces design for which he care usability and user experience. Francesco has been fond of Free Software and web technologies for years.

From 2007 Francesco works in Reflab. Thanks to his long experience, he has a deep knowledge on many Plone addons and knows how to combine them depending on the specific situations. Francesco loves to coordinate small and medium teams of developers with different skills in order to reach project objectives. His dream is to grow, year after year, an extraordinary company rooted in Italy but with an international spirit.

Before join Reflab, Francesco develops web applications with Zope/Plone since 2002 when he worked for the University of Turin on e-learning and collaborative web applications.

Graduated in Economics in 2003, his studies were specialized in informatics applied to the economic sciences; he loved to study in deep the complexity theories and agent based simulations. His thesis dealed about an enterprise simulator written in Java, applied to an important italian company.

Interests:

Francesco loves snoboarding, trekking, playing video and board games and, finally, following his favorite football team (Livorno).
